Fighting depression with workout and music

I’m trying to help my friend who’s really very depressed right now because her husband left their conjugal home and their marital relationship is on the rocks right now. I told her to fight her emotion, make herself busy in doing things where she can improve her physical and mental wellbeing. Because she’s overweight I told her to go to the gym and shred off those fats. Also i told her to visit a salon to beautify and pamper herself.

I also suggest another way that can help her fight her depression, and that is to listen to music. I learned that she can play the guitar so I told her to spend her idle time playing it. However their guitar is already worn out so I suggest her to check the guitar for sale at Musicians friend . Music can uplift our spirit and relax our mind even for just a while. I really hope she would follow my advise.
